WALTERS - Graveside service for Helen Irene Dunlap, 89, Walters, will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Faxon Cemetery with her daughter, Hughrene Kolter, officiating.

Mrs. Dunlap died Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, in Lawton.

Burial will be under direction of Becker Funeral Home.

She was born June 15, 1920, in Faxon to Verl and Gladys Wood Cooper. She was raised in Faxon and graduated from Faxon High School and attended Aladdin Beauty College. She moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, in her 20's and opened The House of Beauty, which she ran for 34 years. She returned to Oklahoma in 1978 to care for her uncle. She married Mervin Dunlap in 1980 and lived with him on their farm outside of Geronimo until her health declined. She was a beautician, farmed and homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Walters; a daughter and son-in-law, Hughrene and Adrian Kolter, Wichita Falls, Texas; and a granddaughter and her spouse, Leslie Kolter and Joel Wommack, Austin, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters: Ruby Everitt and Juanita Wilmot.
