Lieut. Daniel Eno, s. of Capt. Samuel Eno, Sr. and Eunice Marshall, was b. Apr. 12, 1742 at Windsor, Conn. and d. Dec. 9, 1797, Æ 56. Daniel is memorialized on the table-top memorial to his parents at the Palisado Cemetery at Windsor, Conn., but it is unlikely that he is interred at that cemetery.

On Jan. 23, 1783, Daniel m. Eunice Phelps, whose date of birth and parentage is in question. She d. at Colebrook, Conn. on July 10, 1787.

According to Douglas C. Richardson's "The Eno and Enos Family in America" (1973, p. 68):

• Daniel Eno, b. 4-12-1742, probably at Windsor, Conn. He m. at the First Church of Windsor, Conn. on 1-23-1783 to Esther Phelps, by Rev. David S. Rowland. Esther (who seems to have been born about 1746) has been identified in "The Phelps Family in America" as Esther born 5-21-1754, at Mansfield, Conn. to Moses and Sarah (Meacham) Phelps. This author is not sure that this is the correct parentage for Esther. Daniel held the military rank of Lieutenant, which he received from fighting in the French and Indian War in 1760. Daniel and his wife Esther seem to have settled at Colebrook, Conn. after their marriage. Esther d. 7-10-1787, age 41 years, and was buried in South Cemetery at Colebrook. Daniel appears on the 1790 census of Litchfield [County], Conn. with 2 males over 16, 1 male under 16, and 2 females in his family. It is very probable that he m. (2) to a woman named Margaret as an unidentified Margaret Eno appears on the list of the original members of the church at Colebrook, Conn. in January 1795. Daniel d. 12-9-1797, place unknown, and he was buried [not likely] in the Palisado Cemetery in Windsor, Conn. He left no will.

Four children of the family, two by each wife, who will be outlined later.
