Bertie Mae Shubert Burnum, age 64 of Loudon, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at her home.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Preceded in death by her parents, O.V. and Mary Elizabeth Brown Shubert; son, J.B. Schaffer; brothers, Dub and Bo Shubert; special friend, Ralph Burnum.

Survivors include daughter, Libby Schaffer son and daughter in-law, Vernon and Mary Ann Schaffer, all of Lenoir City; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Jo Russell and Ann Smallen; brothers and sisters in-law, Johnny & Betty Shubert,; Jessie & Kathy Shubert; and Ruth Shubert all of Loudon; Sammy & Joretta Shubert of Sweetwater; stepchildren, Ronnie, Gary, Nancy, Pam and Vickie Burnum; a host of nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Mary Range and U.T. Hospice.

Funeral service 2:00 P.M. Saturday, McGill Karnes Chapel with Rev. Michael Price and Rev. James Upton officiating. Interment to follow in Long Tom Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Friday at McGill Karnes Funeral Home, Loudon.
