Jasper served during the French and Indian War as a drummer under the command of Daniel Burt, William Williams Col., from 13 Mar to 20 Nov 1758.
He served also in the Revolution, enlisting in the regiment of his brother, Capt. Anthony Needham.

Jasper was born, lived, and died in Wales, MA. His homestead comprised what was later called the "Andrew Needham Place" lying a mile South of the Central Village on the road to Stafford.
