__Mrs. Mary E. Butler, 72, died at her home, 1036 Third avenue SE, Thursday evening at 10:40 after a brief illness. Born in Chenango, N. Y., in 1862. Mrs. Butler came to Iowa county in 1869. She was married to Joseph Butler there in 1894, moving to Cedar Rapids twenty- one years ago.
__Mrs. Butler is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Charles Estes, Marie Butler, and Mildred Butler; and a sister, Mrs. Alice Fitzpatrick, all of Cedar Rapids.
__Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 9 at the Immaculate Conception church, with the Rev. Dean John Malloy officiating. Burial will be made at Mt. Calvary cemetery. The body has been taken to the Monahan chapel where friends may call Sunday evening.
