Edith Hersberger Obituary

Mrs. Edith Hersberger, 79, RR 2, Carlisle, Ind., widow of Bayard Hersberger, a former employee of the Anderson Herald, died Thursday morning at her home. Her husband, a former telegraph editor of the Anderson Herald who had previously served as a teacher and a member of the Anderson Police Department, died in 1948 in Anderson. Mrs. Hersberger left Anderson four years ago to reside in New Carlisle. She was born in 1882 at Noblesville and her maiden name was Sanders. She was a member of the Colonial Evangelical United Brethren Church of Anderson. Her husband was an ordained minister of that faith.

Surviving are: three daughters, Mrs. Harold Durgin, Anderson; Mrs. Harry Smith, Carlisle, and Mrs. Agnes Goble, Phoenix, Ariz; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
