A.W. Kimbrel, 86, formerly of Amarillo, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, in Fort Worth.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St.

Mr. Kimbrel was born in Dodge City, Kan. He moved to Amarillo in 1961 from Muleshoe. He served in the Navy during World War II. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Mr. Kimbrel worked as an operations manager for service stations for Shell Oil.

He enjoyed bowling and playing golf.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha, in 1997; his parents; two sisters; and four brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Debra of Fort Worth; a daughter, Beth Kimberlin of Edmond, Okla.; two granddaughters, Laura Merrill and husband Chris of Edmond, Okla., and Stacy Muñoz and husband Robert of San Antonio; and four great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to American Lung Association.
