OBITUARY
CARLEY NEWCITY, SR., 67, DIES FOLLOWING LONG ILLNESS
Carley R. Newcity, Sr., 67, died Thursday in a Burlington hospital after a long illness.
He was born Aug. 27, 1900, in Hyde Park, the son of Bert and Cornie (Sylvester) Newcity.
On Sept. 1, 1923, he married Ruby (Twombly) Newcity. He had been a barber in several Vermont towns.
He leaves four sons, Theodore Newcity of Channel View, Tex.; Carley R. Newcity of Stowe, and Wallace E. Newcity of South Royalton; three daughters, Mrs Robert (Elaine) Brochu of Burlington, Mrs. Sandra A. Adams of South Royalton, Mrs. Donald (Linda) Lewis of Sharon; two brothers, Wallace E. Newcity of Burlington, and Conrad Newcity of Glastonbury,Conn.; a sister; Mrs. Helen Forester of Ludlow; 21 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funera services were held at Blessed Sacrament Church in Stowe at 10:30 a.m., Monday, with the Rev. Joseph Campbell celebrating the Mass. Stafford Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Riverbank Cemetery.
