MRS. ELLA BARTON
Mrs. Ella Moon Barton, 60, wife of Earl G. Barton and resident of 2417 Old Buncombe Road, died at the home yesterday morning at 10 o'clock after an extended illness.
Mrs. Barton was born and reared in the Glassy Mountain section of upper Greenville County, a daughter of the late William and Eunice Stewart Moon. Nearly 40 years ago she came to Greenville to make her home and has since resided here.
She was a member of Morgan Memorial Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three daughters, Mrs. Mark Swift, Mrs. J.W. Ouzts and Miss Jean Barton; one son, C. Haskell Barton, all of Greenville; two sisters, Mrs. James Hester, Greenville and Mrs. I.L. Wooten, Greenwood, one brother, John Moon, Taylors, and two grand-children.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home. The Rev. G.M. Eads will officiate and will be assisted by the Rev. J.F. Finley and the Rev. John Clark. Interment will be in the family plot in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be six nephews of Mrs. Barton and are as follows; Tom Coleman, Robert Coleman, James Hester, Andrew Moon, Ray Taylor and Robert Moon.
The flower girls will be Misses Gladys Jones, Edith Bishop, Margaret Davis, Evelyn Davis, Evelyn Smith and Grace Padgett.
The escort of Honor will be composed of Arthur Garrett, Ollie Garrett, Arthur Miller, Dr. Charles Mimms, Jack Mauney, R.L. Miller and Rupert Freeman.
Until the hour of the service the body is at the Thomas McAfee Funeral Home.
