Carlos Landon Rites At Arcadia
Carlos, son of William and Emmerett [sic] Landon was born near Boone, in Boone county, Ia., on August 18, 1873 and passed away at his home on December 10, 1940 at the age of 67 years, 3 months and 23 days, after being bedfast for the past two weeks.

He came to Nebraska with his parents in October 1883, where they homesteaded in Sherman county on a farm 12 miles northwest of Loup City. There he grew to manhood. He spent the remainder of his life since his marriage on his farm 9 miles northwest of Loup City.

He was united in marriage to Rangfield [sic] Elizabeth Nelson on May 17, 1905 and to this union four children were born, three daughters, Mrs. Elena White, Lulu Kathryn at home and Mrs. Margaret Zentz all of Arcadia and one son, William B. of Ovid, Colorado.

In June 1915 his wife died leaving four small children.
He leaves to mourn his passing three brothers, Clarence, Leslie, and Leroy of Arcadia, two sisters Jennie of Arcadia and Lulu of Lincoln, five grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

He and his family have been active members in the Mixed Grove Sunday School for many years.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Arcadia on Friday afternoon with Rev. W. H. Hendrickson, formerly of Arcadia and Rev. E. A. Smith in charge.

Interment was made in the Moon Creek cemetery. The pall bearers were: Al Fagon, D. C. Hawley, J. G. Frost, John Jewell, Eric Erickson and P. A. Larson.
