Excerpts from a letter written by Lottie Beers to her aunt Lucy Beers, dated Nov. 20, 1907, from Norwalk, Ohio.
"...We laid mother to rest Tuesday morning. She had been sick a long time, but was not confined to her bed all the time. She went to bed Sat. night the 16th as well as she had been for some days, and at 11 o'clock she had passed away with out a struggle. It does not seem as though we could give her up. She was needed so badly here. Pa is almost broken hearted and he is an old man and it comes pretty hard to be left all alone now. We are living here at home and was here when Mother died..."
