Paris, Lamar Co., TX—Friday, 9 September 1960

CLARKSVILLE—The funeral of Mrs. Mollie Gamble Alford, 97, widow of P.H. Alford, was held Thursday at Jolley's Funeral Home by the Rev. Bennie Hinsley of First Baptist Church, where Mrs. Alford was a member. Interment was made in Fairview Cemetery, and bearers were Tommy Gamble, Forrest Gamble, George Gamble, Alva Gamble, Ashley Goodson and Otto Blum.

Mrs. Alford, born in English community, December 2, 1882, was a lifelong resident of Red River County.

She died Wednesday in Red River County Hospital here.

She was married in January, 1885, Mr. Alford's death occurring in February, 1928.

Surviving are these children: Barney Alford, Lubbock; P.E. Alford, Ft. Worth; Wallace Alford, Los Angeles, Calif.; and Mrs. H.L. Mitchell, San Bernardino, Calif.; 30 other descendants in three generations, and a brother, Henry Gamble of Roanoke.
