Was Mother of Chief-of-Police Z. L. Damron
Mrs. Belinda C. Damron, widow of Zack L. Damron and mother of Chief-of-Police Z. L. Damron, of this city, died at 5 o'clock this morning (April 14, 1923) at the home of her son, after an illness of only 12 hours.
Mrs. Damron was before marriage, Miss Belinda C. Loving, daughter of the late John I. Loving, of Lovingston, Nelson County, and was eighty-three years of age. Of a family of ten children, eight survive four sons and four daughters - T. L. Damron, of Alderson, W. Va.; J. D. Damron, of Columbus, O.; W. D. Damron, of Philadelphia; Z. L. Damron, of this city; Mrs. W. L. Dabney, Mrs. Rosa L. Harris and Miss Ella Damron, all of Rockfish and Mrs. John A. Wells, of this city.
Mrs. Damron also leaves one brother, Mr. Nicholas Loving, of Richmond, Va., and four sisters - Mrs. Nannie Bryant, of Richmond; Mrs. Mollie Tinsley, of Lynchburg; Mrs. Lou Stevens and Miss Linnie Loving, of Lovingston.
Mrs. Damron's mother had nineteen children all of whom lived to be over 21 years of age.
The funeral will be held at the old Damron home at Rockfish some time Monday, and the interment will be in the family burying ground.
