Gladys attended teachers training and taught for five years at the little old school house, that is now located at the Crow Wing County Fairgrounds. Gladys then met and married the love of her life, Arvid Greenwalt; they were married for 65 years and had six children. Gladys was dedicated to her family. She absolutely loved children and kept very active in the PTA, teaching Sunday school at First Presbyterian and coordinating weddings and funerals at the church for years. Gladys enjoyed family gatherings, baking for all occasions and playing games with family and friends. Traveling with Arvid was also very special to Gladys.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Roger (Wendy), of Brainerd, Richard (Pearl), of Baxter, Judy (Bruce) Tollefson, of Baxter, Gerry (Kay), of Baxter, Nancy (Lewis) Headlee, of Pequot Lakes, Janet (Robert) Pederson, of St. Joseph; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents, George and Anna; husband, Arvid; brothers, Alvin and Clarence; a sister, Betty Wilmer.
