Beverly Allen was married to two sisters, Mary Goss, who is buried in an unmarked grave, and Marina Serena Goss Allen, a.k.a. Rena Allen. Two more sisters, Nancy Ann Goss Newman and Mahaley S. Goss Grimes, are buried in marked graves. They are all daughters of Charles Simeon Hamilton Goss and Mahala Smith.

Probate Court
In the Matter of the Estate of Beverly Allen, Deceased.
To the Hon. John Appleby, Judge of the Probate Court, Chambers County
The undersigned J. C. Allen, your petitioner, by appointment of this court Administrator of the estate of Beverly Allen, deceased, would respectfully represent unto your Honor, that the deceased died seized of the following described lands, situate in said County and State to wit: one hundred and eleven acres off of the north end of the east half Section 29, Township 24, Range 25 part of fractional half of practical Sec. 28, Township 24, Range 25, part of north half (1/2) on east side of Tallapoosa River, Section 32, Township 24, Range 25.
Your petitioner further states that the names and ages, residences and condition of the heirs and assigns of said estate are as follows, to wit:

Marena S. Allen, widow of deceased, age 29 (sic) years
Churchill Allen, aged 21 years
C. S. H. Allen, aged 19 years
Mahala A. Allen, aged 18 years
Sarah E. Allen, aged 15 years
Hesaciah (sic) F. Allen, aged 14 years
Lucy L. Allen, aged 12 years,
Mary J. Allen, aged 11 years,
Alice B. Allen aged 10 years
All of whom reside in Chambers County, Ala.

He further alleges that the said lands cannot be equitably divided among said heirs and without a sale thereof - that Churchwell Allen has and at the age of 21 years desires a decision of this court (NOTE: things are crossed off and added here making it difficult to translate) He (Churchill/Churchwell Allen) therefore prays that for the purpose of making such division equitable and just your Honor will grant an order directing petitioner to sell the lands hereinbefore described, and will make such further orders herein as may be by law required, and to your honorable Court may seem meet. - J. C. Allen

J. C. Allen being duly sworn deposes and says that the facts set forth in the foregoing petition are true according to the best of his knowledge, information and belief.
