Obituary from The Montana Standard 8/20/2009:

Marion Francis (Noonan) Kello died Tuesday morning, Aug. 18, 2009, in Butte. She has gone to be with her Lord, her mother, father and brother, other family members and good friends who have passed before her.

Marion spent her life in Butte, and was always proud to say she was from the Mining City. She was born to Edward James Noonan and Marion Gertrude (Parisot) Noonan in Butte on Jan. 31, 1932. She attended school at the Immaculate Conception and graduated from Butte High School in 1950. She also attended Butte Business College.

Marion worked several years for Texaco Co., and married James Stephen Kello on Sept. 7, 1957. She and Jim had two children, Michael John and Marion Margaret. While raising her children, Marion worked part-time for her brother's answering service and was a member and strong supporter of the Butte Silver Bow Democratic Central Committee.

In the summer of 1980, she started her 28-year career working for Butte-Silver Bow as the switchboard operator, and shortly thereafter became a clerk for the justice of the peace. During that time, she clerked for Judge Georgia Moran, Judge Mel Mooney and finally Judge Robert Lee before retiring on July 1, 2008.

Always a hard worker with a keen eye for detail, Marion never really liked the idea of "retirement." She became a volunteer for the local R.S.V.P. program where she put her court skills to work again at the Butte-Silver Bow City Court and volunteered at the World Museum of Mining, particularly in the photo archives. Marion loved to travel to see family, and one of her most favorite places to visit was Safeco Field to watch the Mariners. She also loved to ski in her younger years and even climbed Mount Fleecer to take one of the best powder runs of her life.

Marion was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, great-aunt and great-great-aunt. However, most of all, to anyone who knew her, she was a dear friend. Her passing will leave hundreds of broken hearts. However, the memories of one of Butte's greatest daughters will live on forever.

Marion was preceded in death by her mother and father; brother, Edward James Noonan II; father- and mother-in-law, Nick and Margaret Kello; and sister-in-law, Barbara Kello.

She is survived by her dear friend, Jim Kello; daughter, Marion Kello and son-in-law, Jim Brown; son, Michael Kello; nephews, Ed Noonan, Art Noonan, Mark Noonan and Larry Noonan and his wife, Jaci; great-nephew, Pat Noonan and wife, Jennifer, and children, Hope and Haley; great-nephew, Bryan Noonan; and great-niece, Andrea (Noonan) Bottorf and her husband Cody. Marion is also survived by nieces, Winnie Noonan and Sara (Noonan) Paul and her husband Jerry; great-nephew, Dan Paul; and great-nieces, Kate Paul and Kelley Paul. Additionally, Marion is survived by brothers-in-law, John Kello and wife, Pat, and Joe Kello and wife, Sandi; sister-in-law, Clarice (Kello) Black and husband, Bob, and all of their children and grandchildren. She also has several loving cousins in the Parisot and Noonan families.

Cremation has taken place in Butte. Memorial services to celebrate Marion's life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 22, at St. Ann's Catholic Church. Relatives and friends are asked to join the family after 10 a.m. Liturgy of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m., with interment of ashes to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
