Miss Wilma G. Peterson and LaVern Painter were married on 29 July 1939 in Hastings Barry County, Michigan. The bride, age 18, was a student; the groom, age 22 was a factory employee; both resided in Breckenridge, Gratiot County. The couple were enumerated in 1940 in Pearle Peterson's household in Gratiot County. (Pearle Peterson's parents, Gertrude and Alexander Myers, were then enumerated in neighboring Isabella County.)
She was involved with her family in forming the Peterson Lewis Broadcasting Co., which created WPLB, the first AM and FM radio station in Greenville, Montcalm County, Michigan. She retired from the radio station in 1989.
She was survived by two sons and their spouses, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
