Henry Landon, was born in Salisbury, Connecticut, October 30, 1821, the son of Allen and Sally (Sedgwick) Landon. He was reared on a farm and attended the area schools. For some years he worked at the iron works of Salisbury. In 1857 he come to Iowa and lived ten years near Decorah. He then took a homestead on Section 5, Union township, where he did general farming. In 1845 he married Almeda, daughter of Charles and Betsy Dean, all of Canaan, Connecticut. Following are the names with residence of Mr. Landon's children: Mrs. Lorenzo (Ellen) Dean of Kingsley; Jennie with parents; Mrs. Edwin (Addie) Lent of Correctionville; James and Alice at home; Mrs. Arthur (Kate) Baker of Union Twp.
