She professed in Christ and united with the M.E. Church at Ottumwa Kans. and was baptized Nov 18, 1894 where she held her membership until her death. Her life was full of good deeds and good words for all, her home was one of hospitality and charity to everyone who met her, she was kind and loving to her children, to her neighbors and her fellow beings. For the past two years she has gradually been sinking but she bore her affliction with Christian Zeal and fortitude and peacefully fell asleep in the arms of a precious faith, that wakes to no disappointment. While we miss her and her place can not be filled, in our hearts we would not call her back for our loss is her eternal gain.
Funeral services were conducted by Elders Richards and McCormick of the Primitive Baptist church at the U.B. church in Crescent. She is survived by her husband, three daughters, eight brothers and one sister. - W. F. McCormick
