Mrs. Dessel Marie Chrisman, 79, lifelong resident of Defiance and Williams Counties, died unexpectedly at 11:45 am Wednesday in the yard of her home at 424 South Lynn St., Bryan.

The daughter of Frank and Flory (Vinneman) Breininger, she was born Sept. 7, 1894 in Defiance. She was married to Earl O. Chrisman Oct 6, 1910 in Defiance, and formerly lived at Route 1, Bryan until moving to the present residence one year ago.

The widower, Earl O. Chrisman, survives, along with two daughters, Mrs. Ronald L. (LaVerne) Moore, Edon, and Mrs. Norman (Earline) Swary, Defiance; four sons, Lavon G., Coldwater, Mich.; Richard D., Route 2, Montpelier, Virgil E., Route 3, Bryan, and Darrel L., Columbus.

Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Donald (Mildred) Wheeler, Battle Creek, Mich.; three brothers, Donald and Willis Breininger, both of Union City, Mich., and Arthur Breininger, Pontiac, Mich.; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Wilmer Breininger; one sister, Mrs. Irma Metz; a son-in-law, Ronald L. Moore; and a grandson, Michael Moore.

Final rites, officiated by the Rev. Jack D. Stutler, pastor of the Edon United Methodist Church, will be conducted at 2 pm Friday from the Oberlin and Ford Funeral Home. Internment is to be in the Farmer Cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the funeral home.
