Hiram Persons, an aged resident of Laurens and a veteran of the Civil War, died suddenly at about 5:30 Sunday evening. He had not been in the best of health for several days, but had been about as usual and his sudden demise, which was heart trouble, was entirely unexpected. [Published in "The Otsego Farmer" page 7, January 18, 1918.]
