PORTAL - Eustice Bowen, 59, died Thursday at Bulloch Memorial Hospital in Statesboro after a short illness.
THe native of Bulloch County lived in Portal most of his life and was a retired farmer. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church near Portal and was a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Willie Mae Bowen of Twin City; two sons, Billy and Danny Bowen, both of Twin City; four sisters, Mrs. Allie Mae Dowling of Portal, Mrs. Alexa Gupton and Mrs. Pearl Hamilton, both of Savannah, and Mrs. Josephine Bolton of Greenville, S.C.; a brother, James Math Bowen of Garfield; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. today at Poplar Springs Baptist Church of Portal, with burial in the church cemetery.
