Danny Lee Turner, age 63, of Dublin formerly of Piney, passed away Monday, June 1, 2009. In loving and most fond memories of our beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend to all who knew and loved Danny who went to be with the Lord. He fought a courageous battle with Esophageal Cancer and is now at peace in Heaven watching over all of his loved ones, awaiting that glorious day that we all meet again. Danny was born and raised in Piney, Va. He is survived by his wife Betty Carol Turner, of Dublin, daughters and sons-in-law Lisa & Philip Cox, of Hiwassee, Teresa Turner & Eric Naff of Dublin, Samantha & Hymen Summers of Maryland, his parents, Theodore R. "Ted" Jr. & Elizabeth Arnold Turner of Ft. Chiswell, sisters & brothers-in-law, Martha & Lewis Sawyers of Fort Chiswell, Debra & James Woodyard of Piney, Lynn & Jimmy Sonner of Max Meadows; brothers & sisters-in-law Larry Turner of Ft. Chiswell, Lou & Marcia Turner of Lynchburg, Randy & Tonia Turner of Ft.Chiswell, Ted & Donna Turner of Ft. Chiswell and Jamie Turner of Pulaski, 7 grandchildren, Travis, Devin, Kayla, Heather, Jay, James and J.J. Funeral service will be Thursday 11:00 a.m. in the Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Joe Carico with the interment in the Turner Family Cemetery. Family will receive friends at Grubb Funeral Home Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. You were always the jokester who loved to play games and spend time with your family no matter what. You will truly be missed. You were our rock we leaned on.
