Mother: Rosa "Rosie" Smith
Carrie Mae was the mother of 10 children. She and her husband moved to Oregon from Oklahoma about 1944.

Mrs. Peoples died May 6, 2003, in Oakwood Country Place, McMinnville. She was 89.

She was born Feb 28, 1914, in Antlers, Okla, the daughter of Richard Festus and Rose Smith Hawkins. She was raised and educated in Antlers.

She and William N. Peoples were married Oct. 21, 1931, in Oklahoma.

She lived in Dayton from 1944 to 1957, then moved to Salem. She moved back to Dayton in 1993 to live with a daughter. She had lived in McMinnville for the past four years.

Mrs. Peoples belonged to the Assembly of God Church, Salem. She enjoyed canning, quilting and raising her children. She also liked sewing and cooking.

Survivors include four daughters, four sons, 41 grand-children, 59 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceeded in death by her husband in 1980; four sons, Terry Peoples, John Peoples, Eugene Peoples, and Bill Peoples, a daughter, Rose Petersen, and two brothers, Albert Hawkins and Woodrow Hawkins.
