July 16, 2009

Why does it hurt so bad that you died?
Countless times, I've cried and cried.
You are at peace, no longer in pain,
Life without you will never be the same.

One thing after another would go wrong,
But, right up to the end you were strong.
Feeding tube, blood loss, mrsa and more,
How much more could you possibly endure?

You were mother, grandmother, aunt and wife,
For 16 months you fought for your life.
The pneumonia, bronchitis, cancer and trache,
Was eventually too much for your body to take.

I don't think I'll ever get over you passing away,
It's almost been four months now to the day,
As I am writing this the tears begin to flow,
and the lump in my throat has started to grow.

There's nothing more I need to say,
The maker called you home that day,
Know that you are missed and loved so much,
And your time here has left a lasting touch.

Miss and Love You Mom,
Sharon
