In early life the deceased united with the church, and has been a member of the M.E. church of Monroeville since the year 1881.
Mr. Goodin leaves to mourn their loss his companion; five children, Ida May Krick of Monroeville, Mary Estela Montgomery, Alberta Miller. Johanna Heine and John Elmer Goodin of Fort Wayne; eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two sisters and a host of friends.
While paying our last respects to the departed, we may meditate upon the words of the poet:

"Thy day has come, not gone;
Thy sun has risen, not set,
Thy life is now beyond
The reach of death or change,
Not ended--but begun."
