Leo G. Krones, 73, of Lawrence, Kansas, formerly of Gilman, IL., died at 2:22 A. M., Saturday, August 15, 2009 at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, KS.

Leo was born on March 11, 1936 in rural Gilman, IL to Joseph & Mary (Reilly) Krones. His childhood was spent in Leonard, IL. area. He graduated from the Gilman High School in 1955.

He married Marcella "Sal" Lambert on April 27, 1957, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Gilman. She survives.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister-in-law - Francis, Jerry &(Pat) Krones, and one sister and one brother-in-law - Maryann &(Bob) Anstett.

Leo was a pressman for over 45 years including 42 years at Uarco. He was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus. Leo participated in several Alzhiemer's Research Programs at the University of Kansas (KU) Medical Center.

He enjoyed gardening, walking and spending time with his family.
