George Charles Akins, age 100 of Lenoir City passed away on October 20, 2023.

"Pedro" was a lifelong resident of Loudon County. He worked at Maremont for 25 years and also enjoyed being a farmer. Pedro was a good husband and father who taught his children right from wrong by his good example.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Della Akins; daughter, Sharon Kay White; son, Ray Eugene Akins; parents, Charles and Lydia Akins and several siblings.

Survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Bruner and Ann Akins, Gary and Becky Akins, and George Anderson Akins; grandchildren: Charles Lee "Charlie" Akins, Gary Lee Dale Akins, Zachary Akins, Zekiel Akins, Zane Akins and Zeth Timothy Akins; several great-grandchildren to include Sadie Akins and Saul Akins along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 22nd at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dean Bandy officiating. Burial will follow in the Unitia Cemetery.
