MATHEWS - Hilda Proctor Callis, 82, loving daughter of Willy and Lucy Proctor, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 9, 2004. She was co-owner with her late husband, Emory, of the Mathews Dairy Freeze for 36 years. Her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life. She is survived by two daughters, Crystal C. Hubbard of Gloucester, Va., and Velvet C. Noel of Vancover, B.C.; three grandchildren, Sterling Hubbard, Brittany Hubbard and Olivia Hubbard of Gloucester, Va.
A celebration of her life will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, March 12, at the Gwynns Island Church of the Nazarene, of which she was a member. Entombment will follow in the Haynes Cemetery, Cobbs Creek, Va. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 11, at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, Va. Memorial donations may be given to the Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad.
