Listed in the 1871 Saratoga County business report as farmer of 34 acres with an East Galway PO address. Per Sylvester's History of Saratoga County he was elected Galway Justice of the Peace in 1866. He was clerk of the board of trustees of the East Galway ME Church in 1878. W. Bronson Taylor in his Galway book states that Jeremiah was appointed Postmaster of the East Galway Post Office on May 26 1859. The 1850 census names him as merchant aged 46 years in 1850.
