Clifton L. Ballard, 88, of Beckley passed away Friday, August 14, 2009. Born May 7, 1921, he was the son of the late Sylvestor and Iota Ballard. In addition to his parents, Clifton was preceded in death by his son, Larry Ballard. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 59 years, Hazel Lane Ballard of Beckley; son, Eddie Ballard & wife, Terri of Beckley; grandson, Larry Ballard, II, of Princeton; granddaughter, Kelly Adkins of Grandview; and brother, Walter Ballard of California. Clifton enjoyed working in his yard and shining on his cars. He was employed as an electrician for Lowe Brothers Electric for 40 years and was of the Baptist faith. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 17, 2009, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, with Teddy Cooper officiating. Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may gather with the family Monday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Arrangements by Blue Ridge Funeral Home, 5251 Robert C. Byrd Drive, Beckley, WV.
