WELLINGTON - Myra Hays, 93, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Derwin Comer, minister of youth and music, officiating. Burial will be in North Fairview Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hays was born Aug. 18, 1909, to the Rev. James Louis and Virginia Allen Hays. She began school in Jean and graduated from Sunset Hugh School in 1928.

Myra worked in various office capacities, including the Texas Relief Commission from 1933 to 1936. She began work for Farmers Home Administration in December 1936, working in Wellington, Childress, Wheeler and Plainview.

Myra returned to Wellington in 1969 and retired in 1975. She was baptized at age 11 in Bellevue. A member of First Baptist Church of Wellington since 1930, Myra worked with the nine- through 12-year-olds in training union, sang in the church choir and was director of adult four Sunday school department for 15 years.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Virginia Biter, Murl Hays and Larlu Hays.

Survivors include two sisters, Mary Thornton of Pueblo, Colo., and Jessie Pollard of Odessa.

The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church; or Wellington Cemetery Association.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
