Heimbigner: ( b. Dec 15, 1884 d. Jun 11,1971) "The funeral service for Henry H. Heimbigner, who had passed away on Nov 4, was held Monday afternoon at 2 at the Philadelphia Congregational Church in Ritzville, the Rev Ernest Sprenger officiating. He was 87 years old. He leaves a wife, Martha, at the family home in Ritzville; four sons, Elmer of Ritzville; Alvin of Fall City; Joel of Walla Walla; and Jonah of Odessa; three daughters, Esther (Mrs. Emil Miller) of Dryden; Anna (Mrs. Carl Benzel) of Harrington; and Margaret (Mrs. Don Gilliam) of Sequim; 21 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren. Six of his grandchildren served as pall bearers: Gary, Cameron, Jon and Leland Heimbigner, Sherel Miller and Kerry Woitt. Honorary bearers were Henry Schneider, Fred Benzel Jr., Jacob Weizel, Emanuel Grams, Emanuel Pflugrath, James Kadlec, Ervin Ziemer, and Dan Roloff. Henry H. Heimbigner, son of Conrad and Anna Marie Kiehn Heimbigner, was born on July 28, 1884 near Bickleton in Klickitat County. In the fall of 1891 the Heimbigner family moved to a farm about 11 miles northwest of Ritzville. As a youngster he attended public school up to the fifth grade. In 1903 he enrolled in the Empire Business College at Walla Walla. After completing his course of study in two years he returned to help a brother on the farm. In 1906 he started farming on his own. On May 27, 1907 he was united in marriage with Martha Kuest. The couple continued farming until 1912 when he was employed by the Seattle Grain Co to operate the elevator and warehouse at Packard. He continued as manager until 1920 when the family moved to Dryden to operate a fruit orchard. While raising fruit he was also the manager of the Wenatchee Coop for some five or six years. In 1942 the orchard was leased to some of the children and in 1952 Mr. and Mrs. Heimbigner retired to Wenatchee. They remained there until October of 1960 when they moved to Ritzville, residing at 506 West Seventh Avenue. Two sons and one daughter preceded Mr. Heimbigner in death. Burial was in the Ritzville Memorial Cemetery." (Odessa Record: 11-11-1971)
