John James Adams, 79, painter and resident of Laurel Heights and Winn Parish for 26 years, died in a Shreveport hospital November 16 after a long illness.

Funeral services were conducted at Hixson Funeral Chapel, Winnfield, at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 17, with the Rev. Edgar Gunter officiating. Burial was in the Atlanta Cemetery.

Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Mrs. Catherine Adams; one son, J. E. Adams of Tallulah; two daughters, Mrs. Edna Mae Singleton, Winnfield, and Mrs. Mildred Hadcastle, Houston; one brother, Julius Adams, Baton Rouge.
