DEATH TAKES LOVED WOMAN ****
Death claimed another of Lakeport's excellent women when Mrs. Christina Tinker passed away at her home in North Lakeport Friday night, Jan. 2, 1920, at 10:30 o'clock, after an illness lasting several weeks. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the local Christian church, Rev. Elbert Holland of Ukiah officiating. Interment was made in Upper Lake cemetery in the family plot. Christina McLean was a native of Pictou county, Nova Scotia. With her parents she came to California while still quite young, the family settling on a ranch above Upper Lake. In October of 1886, she was married in Lakeport to Alden A. Tinker, who died December 3, 1918. To this union were born two children - Joseph A. Tinker of San
Jose, and Lillie B. Tinker of Lakeport, both of whom were with their mother when the end came. Miss Lillie had cared for her mother during the whole of the latter's illness. Mrs. Tinker was one of seven sisters and two brothers, only two of whom survive—Mrs. Catherine Bray of Los Molinos, Tehama County, and Mrs. J. A. Houston, of Mott. Mrs. Tinker was a member of Clear Lake Chapter, No 137, O. E. S. and of the Christian church, and lived a life in accord with teachings of both organizations. She had many warm friends here and at Upper Lake, where she was so well known. She was a kind and indulgent mother, a good friend and neighbor and a woman who stood high in the community.
