Julius Elmer Moore, 83, of Glenwood, W.Va., passed away Friday, June 12, 2009, at the V.A. Medical Center, Huntington. Graveside funeral services were conducted Monday at Highland Cemetery, Huntington, by Chaplain Al Hess of the VFW Post 9738 Honor Guard. Burial followed.

He was born May 20, 1926, in Cabell County, W.Va., a son of the late John and Pauline Moore. He was also preceded in death by his son, James Moore of Alaska; a brother John Moore Jr. of Huntington; and a sister, Jean Hall of Huntington.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Susan Moore of Alaska; also a grandson, Brandon Moore of Alaska; brothers, Leon Moore of Slidell, La., Jack Moore of Glenwood, W.Va., a brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Gisela Moore of Proctorville, Ohio; a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Baron Atkins of Proctorville.

Julius served in the Air Force in the Philippines during W.W.II. Reger Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. There was no visitation. VFW Post 9738 of Guyandotte conducted military graveside rites.
