HARRY HOPKINS, 44, owner and operator of the Meredith Inn, at Meredith, died Tuesday at McLaren Hospital in Flint. Born in Bloomfield, Mo., November 19, 1926, he came to this area from Flint nine years ago when he purchased the tavern. Mr. Hopkins was married to the former Miss Jeanette Surbeck in Flint June 12, 1948. He was a member of the Masons, Eagles and Shriner fraternal organizations.
Surviving are his wife, Jeanette: three sons, Michael, Louis and Christopher; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Lewis of St. Johns, and Anna at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Hipkins of Flint: two sisters, Mrs. Esther Vetula of Maryland and Mrs. Evelie Finch of Flint; two brothers, Thomas of Flint and Robert of Holly.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin, with the Rev. Carl Briggs officiating and burial will be in Highland Cemetery. A masonic service will be held Thursday evening, at 8:00 p.m. Gladwin County Record dated 08-11/1971 Column - 4 Page - 2
