Antonia Genovese was born in Italy in 1873 and immigrated to the United States in 1889. She married Biaggio (Ben) Frisino, also from Italy and an 1882 immigrant, around 1891. They lived in Duluth, Minnesota where Ben was a barber. By 1895 they had three children. The family then moved to Baltimore, Maryland. Antonia, who was sometimes called Antoinette, had seven more children over the next 20 years. In all, she brought three girls and seven boys into the world.

Ben died in 1920 and Antonia remained in her row house on Linwood Ave with several of her children.

Antonia passed away in Baltimore in 1945 at the age of 72, leaving behind nine of her ten children and at least eleven grandchildren.
