Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday for John Baker Hoover 82, at the DeSoto Church of Christ where he was an Elder. Arrangements by Rudolph funeral home at Lancaster.
Born May 23, 1871 at Duck River Tenn., he came to Texas in 1900 and was a Dallas County road employee for thirty five years and a DeSoto Community farmer. He passed away Monday in a Dallas Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Maude Johnson Hoover; three daughters, Lucille Steadman, Dallas; Polkia Shaw, Duncanville; and Betty Porter Dallas; Five brothers Robert Hoover of Nashville, Tenn. and Marcy Hoover of Duck River Tenn, Sloan Hoover of Dallas, Samuel Hoover of Midland and Gene Hoover Desoto; seven sisters, Mrs. Matt Delk of Florida Mrs.Annie Easley,of Little Lot, Tenn; Mrs Ruth Delk, Mrs. Maude Lovell,of Columbia, Tenn; Mrs Claude Luther of Bon Aqua, Tenn; Mildred Orr and Lucille Watson of Columbia Tenn.
