"The famous Capt. Buster was born in Somerset, Pulaski County, Kentucky, January 21, 1816. He came to Texas with his parents in 1836, held the rank of Captain at the battle of Mier, fought December 25-26, 1842, was captured and kept in prison at the Castle of Perote, City of Mexico until released in 1844.
He was a Mason.
