Mrs. Bertha M. BROWN, 72, died at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at her home, 229 W. Third street, Rochester, following a stroke of paralysis suffered March 14. Mrs. Brown had been a resident of this city most of her life.
She was born in Henry township Feb. 1, 1881, to John U. and Alice (KUHN) BRYANT. Her first marriage in 1901 was to Charles ALSPACH, who died in 1923. On October 9, 1937, she was married to William BROWN. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Rochester Church of God and the W.C.T.U.
Surviving are the husband, at home; two sons, Louis ALSPACH, Mishawaka; John ALSPACH, Sturgis, Mich.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Georgia HAVLICK, this city; two sisters, Mrs. Lou GROVE, Talma; Mrs. Fred FOLLMER, San Diego, Cal.; three brothers, Harley BRYANT, this city; Sam BRYANT, Morocco; Roy BRYANT, San Diego,Cal.; and a grandson, David ALSPACH, Mishawaka.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Rochester Church of God with the Rev. E. POWELL in charge. Burial will be in the Plainview cemetery, Macy. Friends may call at he Zimmerman Brothers Funeral home.
