Lee Anna Latham Mitchell Scholl
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Lee Anna Latham Mitchell Scholl, 59, a longtime breast cancer survivor, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and friends, on Good Friday, April 14, 2006, at a local hospice.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Colorado Avenue in Colorado Springs, Colo., with a lunch to follow in the parish center. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Saturday, May 27, in Post Oak Cemetery in Glen Rose. She will be laid to rest in the Newman family plot with her mother and father.

She was born Sept. 1, 1946, in Fort Worth. She graduated from Hill County Junior College with an LPN degree and practiced nursing for 32 years. She lived in Burleson for 26 years and raised three children. She had been a resident of Colorado Springs since 1994. She had been a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church since 1999, where she was active in the music and health ministries.
She enjoyed pets, gospel music and singing. She was a volunteer at the Humane Society for several years and often brought home a dog or cat needing some extra "TLC." Her favorite was her teacup Chihuahua, Taco. She was a member of a professional gospel singing group in Fort Worth and frequently performed at the Grapevine Opry House.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Robert Latham, and mother, Rudene Lee Latham.
Survivors: Husband, Peter Kent Scholl of Colorado Springs, Colo., whom she married on Dec. 18, 1999; sons, Roy Lee Mitchell III and wife, Pam, of Burleson and Robert Terrell Mitchell of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughter, Martha Elizabeth Khayyatt and husband, Bill, of Richland Washington; stepdaughters, Christine Scholl of San Jose, Calif., and Kathleen Fisher and husband, Timothy, of Littleton, Colo.; her sister, Martha Bass and husband, Charles, of Evergreen, Colo.; brother, Robert Patrick Latham and wife, Connie, of Corvallis, Ore.; and numerous grandchildren.
