OBITUARY :
CHARLIE DAVID MONGOLD, 96, of Mathias died Saturday, July 5, at his home.

Mr. Mongold was a farmer and a member of the Church of the Brethren.

He was born in Hardy County, Dec. 10, 1889 and was a son of the late Nathan and Sarah Delawder Mongold.

On Aug. 29, 1915, he married the former Ada V. See, who died July 16, 1983.

Surviving are four sons, Dailey, Oliver and George Mongold all of Mathias, and Raymond Mongold of Edinburg, Va.; two daughters, Treafa Mullins of New Market, Va., and Lefa Gay Pyle of Moorefield; three sisters, Millie See of Mount Jackson, Va., Ida Strawderman of Timberville, Va., and Etta Strawderman of Mathias; 23 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral was conducted Tuesday at the Mathias Church of the Brethren by the Rev. Mark Bowser and Doc Shank. Burial was in the Mongold family cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family said contributions may abe made to the Mathias-Baker Rescue Squad.
