Helen Grace Varnadore, 76, of Soso, died Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., today at Centerville Baptist Church Cemtery. The Rev. John Hilbun will officiate. She was a member of Centerville Baptist Church. She was retired from the Howard Industries Ballast Plant and Foster Grandparents at Ellisville State School. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Della Carter Welch; one daughter, Ruby Pearson; one son, Joe Pitts. She is survived by five sons, Thomas Pitts, Jimmy Pitts and Crawford Pitts all of Soso, John Douglas Pitts of Laurel, and Stanford Pitts of Escatawpa; one daughter, Rachel Wells of Ellisville; one brother, Carter Welch of Rhode Island; one sister, Anice Adcock of Ellisville; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Jones Funeral Home in Ellisville is in charge of arrangements.
