CHARLES PEASE'S FATHER PASSED AWAY IN SACRAMENTO**

Charles Harris Pease died in Sacramento Tuesday night at the age of 85 years. Deceased was a native of Maine, and had resided in Sacramento for many years. He is survived by one daughter; Mrs E. S. Wadsworth, of Sutter City, Sutter County and five sons; Walter Pease of Stockton, Charles Pease of Marysville, George Pease of Santa Cruz and Mark and Wyman Pease of Sacramento. The remains will arrive in Marysville Thursday afternoon at 5:45 o'clock where they will be taken in charge by Kelly Brothers. Funeral services will be held from the Methodist Episcopal church at Sutter City at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon and interment will be made in the Sutter City Cemetery.

Charles Harris, son of Mark (Eliphalet, Nathaniel, Samuel, John) and Rhoda (Allen) Pease; b. Dec 23, 1830 in Cornish, ME; d. May 02, 1916 in Sacramento, CA; m. Oct 1852, Rebecca Brown Kimball; b. Oct 06, 1833 in Cornish; d. Jul 27, 1892 in Yuba City, CA. She was the daughter of Thomas Kimball; b. Feb 22, 1808 in Parsonsfield, ME; d. Oct 01, 1896, and Rebecca Holmes Brown; b. 1805; d. Mar 22, 1872. Thomas married Rebecca Holmes Brown May 15, 1825. Charles was a wood turner in Enfield, NH, and a musician. He purchased in 1852, by mail order from Florence, Italy, a Cremona Violin. During the 1870 census Charles and his family were living in Enfield, Grafton County, NH. In 1877 he moved them to California by train. In the will of Charles Harris Pease, he left only one dollar to his son Charles for drinking, and one dollar to daughter Rebecca for being divorced.
