Nellie is the daughter of Burt Ingersol Craft and Katie Lee Clement.

She married Merlin Layher.

Obituary - Amador Ledger-Dispatch, October 3, 1988: "NELLIE LUCILE LAYHER - Services will be held today at 1 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Jackson for Nellie Lucile Layher who died at her home in Ione Sept. 30, 1988 at the age of 70.
A native of North Loup, Neb., she and her husband Merlin were founding charter members of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Jackson. The couple had been married nearly 50 years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Shane L. Layher of Rancho Cordova, Henry M. Layher of Douglas, Who., Karen I. Mies of Shingle Springs, Terry G. Layher of Sheridan, Who., and Fred A. Layher of Boys Hot Springs; a sister, Isora Tucker of Jackson; one brother, Fred Craft of North Loup; 20 grand-children and three great-grand-children.
Her son, Henry M. Layher and the Rev. Mark Goossen will officiate. Contributions may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church. Daneri Mortuary is in charge of arrangements."
