Dewell F. Arey Jr. of North Little Rock died March 27, 2002. He was 60.

He was born Nov. 25, 1941, in Mountain View to Dewell and Josie Arey. He was a graduate of Bryant Hight School and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He was of the Baptist faith and owned and operated his own architectural firm for 26 years.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce; two sons, Franklin Arey and his wife Lisa of Morrilton, and Randall Arey of Louisiana; two daughters, Susan Broughman and her husband Brandon of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Rhonda Zahnen and her husband John of North Little Rock; two stepdaughters, Kelly Zanin and her husband John of Conway, and Kristy Tabor and her husband Mike of North Little Rock; seven grandchildren; his mother, Josie Marshall Arey; three sisters, Vernia Hendrix, Shirley Laster, and Virginia Lewis and her husband Hulon, all of Benton; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Huson Funeral Home.
