L. M. Kirkendall Dies
Here Wednesday; Rites
Scheduled on Friday

Services for L. M. Kirkendall, 76, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, in the Powell funeral home chapel with Rev. Ivan G. Potts, pastor of the First Christian church, officiating. Burial will be in the Hominy cemetery with the Powell funeral home in charge. Kirkendall died in the Hominy city hospital Wednesday after a short illness.

He was born in Ozark, Mo. September 30, 1879, and married Essie Lee Harper at Gainesville, Mo., October 19, 1899. He was a member of the First Christian church of Gainesville.

Kirkendall came to Oklahoma in 1907 and settled in Pottawatomie county, before moving to Hominy in 1921 where he has made his home since that time. Kirkendall had been engaged in farming and was an employee of the post office department about 20 years before his retirement.

Survivors include one son, Lester, of Hominy; three daughters, Mrs. Joe Soward, Tonkawa; Mrs. Ervin Blue, Hominy; Mrs. Floyd Lachenmary, Oklahoma City; four sisters, Mrs. Ben Hiser and Mrs. Silas Armstrong, both of Hominy; Mrs. Harvey Fields, Fairfax; Mrs. Arthur Taylor, Eureka, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
