Jemima, born 16 Sept 1821, and died 2 Nov 1884, was a daughter of John and Sarah Peeples of the Hopewell Community. She was first married to an Isaac Auton and had one son, John William Auton. Her will is in the Mecklenburg Courthouse, dated 8 Oct 1883 and was probated 2 Feb 1885. The Mecklenburg Census of 1870 lists her as head of the house. Abram died sometime between 1862-1870 as he is not listed, and the youngest child listed was 8 years old. The children listed in this census are the same as those named in her will. - p. 72, 73.".
