Funeral services for Ralph W. "Bill" Bourne Jr., 68, of Jeffersonville, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. He died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at the Hospice and Palliative Care Unit in Louisville. He was an Army veteran and a retired insurance underwriter for Fireman's Fund Insurance. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Society of Certified Property and Casualty Underwriters and a former member of the River Cities Concert Band and the Moonlight Big Band. Survivors include his wife, Pauline F. Bourne; two sons, Michael W. Bourne, Kensington, Calif., and Lawrence E. Bourne, Louisville; a daughter, Susan M. Jackson and her husband, Glen, Jeffersonville; his mother, Anna Frances Bourne, Jeffersonville; two brothers, James E. Bourne, New Albany and Joseph C. Bourne, Bloomington; two sisters, Sr. Martha Bourne, Mary Knoll, N. Y. and Mary E. Bradley, Louisville, and two grandsons, Russell M. and William M. Jackson, both of Jeffersonville. Visitation at Coots Funeral Home will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or the American Brain Tumor Association.

He was a native of Charleston, WV, an Army veteran and a retired insurance underwriter for Fireman's Fund Insurance. He was a member of the Society of Certified Property and Casualty Underwriters and a former member of River Cities Concert Band and the Moonlight Big Band. He is survived by his wife, Pauline F. Bourne of Jeffersonville; sons, Michael W. of Kensington, CA, and Lawrence E. Bourne of Louisville; daughter & son-in-law, Susan M. and Glen M. Jackson of Jeffersonville; mother, Anna Frances Bourne of Jeffersonville; brothers, James E. of New Albany and Joseph C. Bourne of Bloomington, IN; sisters, Sr. Martha Bourne of Mary Knoll, NY, and Mary E. Bradley of Louisville; and grandsons, Russell M. and William M. Jackson, both of Jeffersonville.
